During a recent interview, Wrestling Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was seen wiping away tears when talking about the late Bob Uecker, also known as “Mr. Baseball.” Hogan, who was interviewed by WISN 12 News at a Piggly Wiggly in Lake Geneva while promoting a beer brand that he co-founded called Real American Beer, recalled Uecker’s passion for wrestling — while he was best known as a baseball announcer, he was also a member of the WWE Hall of Fame and a huge wrestling fan.

Hogan recalled an infamous moment in WrestleMania IV, when Uecker interviewed Andre the Giant and ended up being strangled by the wrestler in a viral moment. “Bob Uecker loved it,” said Hogan. “[Bob] was so into the wrestling. He was one of the boys. So, to lose him, I mean he was part of our family too. Not just Wisconsin, he was our guy too.” He added emotionally, “[Uecker] was special.”

Uecker served as the special guest ring announcer for several pay-per-view events in wrestling, including Hogan’s match against Andre the Giant for WrestleMania III.
