Oprah Winfrey was seen looking stunning at the purple carpet premiere of the new film The Color Purple. Winfrey served as an executive producer on the film, adapted from the Broadway musical and original novel and drama of the same name. The 69-year-old was asked how she got into shape after years of struggling with her weight and diet.

She admitted that she went through an entire lifestyle change and she can’t pinpoint her transformation to just one thing. While she wasn’t too specific about the changes, she said that she intends to keep herself on track and admitted that she was even on the treadmill before the event.

Not only was Winfrey keen to show off her new healthy figure but excited for audiences to see the new film adaptation. She starred in the original 1985 film and earned an Oscar nomination for her performance as Sofia. She opened up about the ’80s film premiere and shared, “David Letterman was escorting me across the street, and I remember that it was a really big night. Tina Turner was there, and Sidney Poitier was there, and, you know, they’re no longer with us, but it was really, really important and I’ll never forget it.”
