The Dukes of Hazzard star Catherine Bach, 71, was recently hospitalized after suffering complications following surgery.

On Thursday, October 30, Bach’s former costar, Ben Jones — who played Cooter Davenport in The Dukes of Hazzard — shared the news via Facebook. Jones and his wife, Alma, announced that Bach’s November 1 and 2 appearances at Cooter’s Place in Nashville, Tennessee, were canceled due to serious health reasons.

“Breaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis,” they shared. “Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered.”

They concluded their update by writing of Bach, “She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma.”

In August 2024, Bach told Fox News Digital that she still sometimes wears her famous ultra-short shorts that became a mainstay of her character in the ’80s.

“Only if you come to my house and watch me garden,” she told the outlet. “Or at the beach. I’ll be honest, at the beach.”

Additionally, Bach admitted that she didn’t think she would get the part of Daisy Duke.

“After I did my reading during the audition, there was total silence. I thought, ‘Oh no, they didn’t like what I did,'” she told Fox News Digital. “Then everyone, we’re talking about 30 people, got up and started clapping. They just connected with my vision of how this part should be played. Two weeks later, I was on a plane to Georgia.”

The Dukes of Hazzard aired for seven seasons from 1979 to 1985. In addition to Bach as Daisy Duke, the series starred Denver Pyle, Sorrell Booke, Waylon Jennings, James Best, Tom Wopat, John Schneider, and more.
