Floyd Roger Myers Jr., the child star who played a young Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is dead at 42.

On the morning of Wednesday, October 29, the actor died in his home from a heart attack, his mother, Renee Trice, told TMZ. The bereaved mom told the outlet that Myers had suffered three other heart attacks over the past three years. She also said she spoke to him the night before his death.

In addition to portraying a young Smith in the beloved ’90s sitcom Fresh Prince, Myers was known for playing a young Marlon Jackson in the TV miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. He appeared in one episode of the TV drama series Young Americans in 2000, too.

Myers also co-founded The Fellaship Mens Group — which has a mission of empowering men to “lead, heal & thrive” — according to an Instagram tribute from the group.

Trice took to Facebook in the wake of her son’s death, writing, “THIS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SO,” alongside a photo f Myers and his four children. She included a link to a GoFundMe campaign organized by his sister, Tyree Trice, to help cover funeral expenses and support his kids.

Facebook users flooded Trice’s post with condolences, with one writing, “Ohhhh nooo Renee Trice I’m so sorry to hear of this. My condolences and prayers are with you all.”

Another shared, “My condolences to you and your family. 🙏🏿🙏🏿.”

Someone else echoed, “Sending you my deepest condolences and prayers.”

Meanwhile, yet another Facebook follower commented, “Renee. There are no words that can capture what you must be feeling. Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Roger. I will pray for you and his family. May God envelope you all in His Arms and comfort you with His Love! ❤️🙏🏽😢.”

In the GoFundMe campaign’s description, Myers was described as a “devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met.” It added, “Roger leaves behind his four beautiful children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — and our loving family is now facing the unimaginable loss of someone who meant everything to us.”
