Mike Rotunda, the WWE star known as IRS who rose to fame in the ’80s and ’90s, has entered hospice at 67.

During an interview with Bill Apter at a fan convention on October 25, Rotunda’s brother-in-law and retired professional wrestler Barry Windham shared a sad update on the WWE Hall of Famer.

“It’s kinda tough right now. Mike is in hospice right now,” Windham said without sharing details about his condition. “So anyway, that family, I love that family, but you know, it just is so tragic.”

Additionally, WWE star Leilani Kai addressed Rotunda’s health decline via X.
“It breaks my heart to share that my friend Mike Rotunda has been placed under hospice care,” she wrote alongside a snapshot of herself hugging Rotunda. “This photo was from earlier this year—a moment I’ll treasure. Please keep Mike and the Rotunda family in your prayers. We love you, Mike.”

In the comments, fans flooded Kai’s post with fond memories of Rotunda and prayers. One X user shared, “Prayers to the Rotunda family. He has been one of my all time favorites. He is One in a Billion/Once in a lifetime; type of wrestlers and man. God bless and keep him. Love to the family.”

Another fan wrote, “Oh no. Sad news about an absolute legend and one of the nicest guys. Thoughts and prayers 🙏.”

Someone else joked, “The only good IRS in history 🥲. Prayers to the entire Rotunda family.”

Meanwhile, yet another X user echoed, “That’s heartbreaking, send your friend all the love while you can. Mike’s a legend in the industry.”

Rotunda’s hospice news comes in the wake of his son, WWE wrestler Bray Wyatt, died at 36 after a heart attack in 2023 at the age of 36.
