Tuesdays in July, starting July 8, Turner Classic Movies is going back to the ’80s and will be celebrating some of the terrific performances by actresses in memorable 1980s movies. The Star of the Month lineups dedicated to ’80s ladies begin on July 8 with Romancing the Stone (1984), led by Kathleen Turner; 9 to 5 (1980), starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton, who also wrote and performed the Oscar-nominated hit title song; Working Girl (1988), featuring Best Actress Oscar nominee Melanie Griffith, and Best Supporting Actress nominees Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack; and Protocol (1984), with Goldie Hawn.

The July 15 TCM lineup starts with The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), featuring Best Actress nominee Michelle Pfeiffer, and continues with Witness (1985), with Kelly McGillis; Fatal Attraction (1987), starring Best Actress nominee Glenn Close and Best Supporting Actress nominee Anne Archer; and The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), which has Jessica Lange taking on the femme fatale role in a remake of the classic film noir.

Best Actress winner Cher kicks off the July 22 lineup in Moonstruck (1987), which also stars Best Supporting Actress nominee Olympia Dukakis. That is followed by Mystic Pizza (1988), led by Julia Roberts, Annabeth Gish and Lili Taylor; For Keeps? (1988), with Molly Ringwald; and Who’s That Girl? (1987), headlined by Madonna, who also cowrote and performed the title tune.
