Once upon a time in Hollywood, three actresses — Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Cheryl Ladd — arrived at the Dolby Theatre to celebrate an iconic milestone in their lives and television history. It was Monday, April 6, 2026, the day of the PaleyFest LA event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Charlie’s Angels. One might be wondering what happened up to the time these Angels hit the stage, so as Kate Jackson’s assistant for the day, let me share with you what that magical day was like.

Take a seat and enjoy these behind-the-scenes photos of this angelic reunion.

Hair, makeup and SUVs began the actresses’ journey to the Dolby Theatre that day; the women arrived around 3:30pm. Once final touch-ups were made by each actress’ glam squad, they were escorted to their first and second photo shoot of the day. Both setups were small, and photographers got their first opportunity to take pictures of this heavenly trio.

This would be the very first time a photo was taken of these Angels together in 34 years. The last time the actresses were seen together was at the 1992 People’s Choice Awards when the Season 2 trio came together to honor the show’s producer, Aaron Spelling. That evening was the first time in 13 years this trio was seen together after the wrap of Charlie’s Angels Season 3 in 1979.

Today interview

Kate, Jaclyn and Cheryl came together for the very first time, sharing hugs and chatting for a brief moment as the camera flashes begin to pop. As soon as the photos were taken, the trio was escorted to the elevator and up to their first interview for Today with reporter Maria Shriver. This was the first time the Angels had been interviewed together, maybe since 1977 when the show introduced Cheryl Ladd into the cast after Farrah Fawcett left the show. The actresses sat close together in director’s chairs as Shriver dived into her questions about how the show was created and memories of filming. Cheryl shared her private, yearlong battle with breast cancer with Shriver. This was the very first time Cheryl revealed her story about her triumphant survival to the world. All three actresses shared their personal stories of breast cancer survival, and that early detection is key.

Today interview was interrupted a few times as the air conditioner kicked on after it had been turned off, which gave the opportunity for the hair-and-makeup team to brush the hair of the Angels. It gave a glimpse of what it must have been like on the set of Charlie’s Angels after every take — a swarm of makeup and hair professionals would step in to make each Angel more beautiful for the next scene.

Right after the interviews were done, everyone headed back to their dressing rooms for a quick change. Both Ladd and Smith changed their outfits as Jackson decided to stay in her suit. If you were wondering why she was in sneakers and not in high heels — well, here’s your answer! Kate recently hurt her foot while skiing. She told me, “I took the most spectacular fall you’ve ever seen in your life — head over heels on my skis — it was incredible.” But her suit and sneakers were right on point as what her character Sabrina Duncan would have worn.

Then it was time to hit the red carpet for more press and photographers. “Over here! Eyes here! Cheryl, Kate, Jaclyn, to your right!” the photographers yell to get their heavenly shots. After photos, the Angels gave a group interview with Good Morning America. “Fifty years is a long time,” Jaclyn shared. Cheryl said, “It’s a little overwhelming, and we’re not even out there yet.” Kate simply stated, “These two ladies are my sisters.” The actresses then split up to meet the rest of the news outlets waiting to get a quote from each star.

But they were not done yet! After the red carpet, the actresses did a third outfit change before another small photo shoot, this time with Citi, the event sponsor. After the group dispersed, it was just me and the Angels. I leaned in and asked, “May I get a picture?” All three said “YES” — I quickly handed my phone off and leaned in. Cheryl perched herself over my shoulder, Jaclyn took my arm and Kate leaned in with a big smile. The little 9-year-old boy inside me was screaming with joy, love and admiration for these three women I’ve personally known for over 20 years. It was a moment I never thought would happen and here I am getting my picture taken with my Angels.

Backstage, the Angels could hear the shouts and applause from the audience as they watched clips of the show. Kate shared a story from the set of the “Angels in Chains” episode, when she found Farrah in the prop room with a jigger of liquor. There they stood, Cheryl, Kate and Jaclyn, watching themselves and remembering their show that changed television history, shattered the glass ceiling and was an inspiration to women around the world. Moderator George Pennacchio introduced the Angels as they walked onstage to thunderous applause, and the true celebration of the 50th anniversary of Charlie’s Angels began: sharing the evening with the people who mean the most to the Angels: Their fans!

I fell in love with Charlie’s Angels watching the Season 2 trio, built CharliesAngels.com, worked with Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Ladd, and Tanya Roberts, and now find myself helping my friend Kate Jackson prepare for this milestone.
