Tom Cruise has an exciting message for fans in San Antonio and Dallas. On May 22, 2025, the Mission: Impossible star will be stopping by a few lucky theaters in San Antonio to surprise fans with a special in-person visit, just one day before Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning officially hits screens nationwide. Cruise shared the big news on the franchise’s Instagram page, where he also mentioned plans to visit Fort Sam Houston before heading to the movies.

Cruise said, “Hi, everyone. On May 22, I’m coming to the great state of Texas, and I’ll be visiting Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio before stopping by some theaters to see you at some of the first screenings of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Then, we’re going to fly to Dallas, where I’m going to get some delicious barbecue before going to more theaters to say hello, and I can’t wait. We’ll see you at the movies.” Unfortunately, he didn’t name any specific theaters quite yet.

The latest film marks the eighth installment in the adrenaline-fueled Mission: Impossible series, picking up where 2023’s Dead Reckoning Part One left off. This time around, Cruise’s character Ethan Hunt is on a race-against-the-clock mission to prevent a powerful AI known as “the Entity” from falling into the wrong hands.

No word yet on whether Cruise will parachute onto a theater roof or pull up on a motorcycle, but given his track record of high-octane stunts, don’t count it out. If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the action star, keep your eyes on your local listings and maybe get to the theater a little early if you’re in the area.

Are you excited for the new film? Stay tuned if he plans to surprise any other fans.
