Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo to Publish Kids Book in 2025
Grammy-winning musicians and power couple Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo can now add “authors” to their list of achievements. The longtime couple recently penned a children’s book titled My Grandma and Grandpa Rock!, which will be out in September 2025.
“We hope grandparents and grandchildren everywhere will see themselves in the pages of this book,” the couple said in a recent interview. According to the publisher, Sourcebooks, the book is an “ode to the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren.” Its story highlights how grandparents can “rock” — through singing, dancing or even just being themselves.

For Benatar and Giraldo, who are proud parents of two daughters and grandparents to three little ones, the book is also a personal one. “Our grand-babies know that we are musicians and songwriters,” the duo said. “They’ve seen our live concerts and watch our videos. To them, we’re simply grandma and papa.”
The book will also celebrate all grandparents and some of the diverse backgrounds they come from. “We believe diversity is a superpower!” the pair stated “We love that My Grandma and Grandpa Rock! embodies that ideal.”

Benatar and Giraldo have been collaborators for over 40 years. The couple married in 1982, and Giraldo has been the “Love Is a Battlefield” singer’s lead guitarist since then. Together, they’re four-time Grammy winners, and they were both inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
