Look out, world: Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, born on Sept. 17, is all but guaranteed to become a future model/actor/entrepreneur!

With parents like Frances Bean Cobain (Kurt Cobain‘s only daughter with Hole front-woman Courtney Love) and Riley Hawk (skateboarder Tony Hawk‘s son), plus R.E.M.‘s Michael Stipe as godfather, this little kiddo is already second-generation celebrity royalty.

“✨ Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything ✨” she shared on Instagram. While husband Riley shared “Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything @thespacewitch ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥”

Stipe was also the officiant at Cobain and Hawk’s wedding in 2023. So grunge. So 1990s. I love it.

I’m not the only one. The affection has been pouring in from fellow celebrity children since the birth announcement. Cobain received congratulatory messages from Harper Grohl, daughter of (recently scandalous) Dave Grohl; Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late Robin Williams; and daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, Tallulah Willis; among others.

It’s sure to be a joyous day for the two new parents, especially for Frances, having lived under the shadow of Kurt Cobain’s very public and tragic death at age 27, when she was just 19 months old; plus, it’s no secret she’s had issues with her mother, Courtney Love. Now, she has a chance to start over and have her own family.

“I wish I knew the cadence of his voice, how he liked his coffee or the way it felt to be tucked in after a bedtime story,” she said in an Instagram post she wrote on the 30th anniversary of his death earlier this year. “I always wondered if he would’ve caught tadpoles with me during the muggy Washington summers, or if he smelled of Camel Lights & strawberry Nesquik (his favorites, I’ve been told).”

“But there is also deep wisdom being on an expedited path to understanding how precious life is,” she added. “He gifted me a lesson in death that can only come through the LIVED experience of losing someone. It’s the gift of knowing for certain, when we love ourselves & those around us with compassion, with openness, with grace, the more meaningful our time here.”
