Former Nirvana Drummer & Lead Singer of Foo Fighters Dave Grohl Announces Birth of Child

File this in Tales of the Bizarre (or perhaps Tales of TMI): Dave Grohl has admitted to fathering a child with a woman who is not his wife (and the mother of his three other children). Was someone pointing a gun to his head? Was he under threat of blackmail? It’s hard to imagine why the former Nirvana drummer would share this information publicly, but alas … he did.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he shared on social media. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.” He then added: “I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

This is not the first time he’s admitted to infidelity: Grohl’s first marriage with photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood ended in divorce three years later after allegations of infidelity, according to The Guardian.

He met his current wife, former model Jordyn Blum, in 2001, and the couple has been married since 2003. They have three daughters: Violet, Harper and Ophelia.

Grohl, 55, did not share any other details about the baby or her mother. Perhaps that will come out later on; a statement from his wife might be due as well, as surely she can’t be too happy about this news, or that it’s now public. One source told People Magazine that Grohl retained a divorce attorney prior to the announcement.

Yesterday, in response to this news, a social media user with the handle @valeriegreyston shared a now-deleted photo  of a baby holding a mother’s hand with a long caption claiming the little one belonged to the Foo Fighters frontman, according to Page Six. However, Grohl claims the viral post was fake.

My guess is there will be more of these types of posts coming out of the woodwork until the identity of the woman is public.
