Everything We Know About the Bruce Springsteen Biopic Starring Jeremy Allen White
Things are moving forward with the Bruce Springsteen biopic starring The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White.
“I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing,” White recently shared with GQ. He also has been busy preparing for the role by talking to the Boss himself, as well as watching the endless amount of videos of him available online.

“I’m also really lucky [that] Bruce is really supportive of the film, and so I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy,” he said. “Also, there’s just so much footage. It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice. That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”

White was recently featured in a Calvin Klein underwear campaign, shot on a Manhattan rooftop (it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re a Jeremy Allen White fan), which also featured him in jeans — a Springsteen staple.
“Bruce Springsteen is — I mean this in the very best way — he’s a guy. He’s a jeans-and-T-shirt kind of guy,” White added. “It was exciting to know going into this thing that we had at least that in common.”

The biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere, which does not have a release date yet, will explore the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, which followed the singer-songwriter’s successful The River album.

In addition, Johnny Cannizzaro (Jersey Boys) has been cast as the E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt, Marc Maron will play music producer Chuck Plotkin, Gaby Hoffmann will play Springsteen’s mother Adele and David Krumholtz will play record label exec Al Teller. The movie is currently filming in New Jersey and New York.
