Tim Burton Reportedly Owns ‘A Jar of Eyeballs’ & ‘Little Creatures’
Jenna Ortega is quickly becoming Tim Burton‘s go-to star for his creepy and creative films and television shows. She recently starred in Wednesday, a Netflix series focusing on The Addams Family child Wednesday Addams, and stars in the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel. Since they have worked together so often lately, Ortega has been to the director’s California home and is offering a glimpse at what odd horrors are found there.
She said about his house, “You walk in and it’s the huge throne from Alice in Wonderland. There’s a jar of eyeballs in the bathroom.” She added that Burton also has another odd habit of carrying little statues in his pockets, which she likes to call “his little creatures.”
Ortega also recalled reading the Beetlejuice sequel script for the first time and feeling very excited about it. Burton handed her a role in the film after working together in Wednesday, later calling Ortega one of his favorite people to work with, and noted that she’s “different from anybody” he has worked with in the past, except maybe Winona Ryder. He worked with Ryder several times, including on the original Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.

He compared the women adding, “They both, as young people, had a very strong soul. They’re like silent movie actors.” Ortega plays Ryder’s daughter in the Beetlejuice sequel, officially titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Don’t forget, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice comes out very soon, on Sept. 6, 2024. Will you be watching? Now tell us in the comments if you think it is strange that Burton keeps a jar of eyeballs in his bathroom, or is it on-brand for the director? We just hope they’re not real!
