Another biopic about a music icon is in the works, and this time Bob Dylan is getting the movie treatment. Timothée Chalamet is currently filming A Complete Unknown, portraying singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, and has been seen shooting scenes around New Jersey.

What is A Complete Unknown about?

The film follows the story of Bob Dylan’s big break into the music industry as a folk singer starting when he was 19 years old. A big part of the film will focus on his performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Reportedly, Chalamet will do all of his own singing in the film.

What does Bob Dylan think about his biopic?

Director James Mangold shared, “The first time I sat down with him, Bob said, ‘What’s this movie about, Jim?’ I said, ‘It’s about a guy who’s choking to death in Minnesota, and leaves behind all his friends and family and reinvents himself in a brand new place, makes new friends, builds a new family, becomes phenomenally successful, starts to choke to death again — and runs away.” He said that Dylan, 83, smiled and said, “I like that.”
