Dear ReMIND,

Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand. Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine? Must have been a dream. I don’t believe where I’ve been. Come on, let’s do it again. Do you…you feel like I do?

Peter F.

Dear Peter,

Do I feel like you do at this very moment? No.

Though admittedly, I have in the past felt like you do on several occasions.

I, too, experienced nights of drinking, song and revelry in my younger days. While those were fun times while they were happening, overindulgence in wine often brought physically painful and sickening consequences the following morning.

That you blacked out and have no memory of where and what you ate and drank the previous night is concerning. It’s possible that someone may have taken advantage of your inebriated state and intentionally drugged you without your knowledge. You should never leave your drink unattended or accept drinks from strangers without knowing their source and contents.

You may also consider bringing your own drinks to parties and events, especially if there are concerns about the safety of beverages provided or the character of other attendees at the party.

If you frequently feel like you do and it is interfering in your job or relationships, you may be suffering from an addition to alcohol. I recommend seeking guidance from a healthcare professional or counselor who specializes in addiction. They can provide personalized advice and support tailored to your situation. There are also treatment options like therapy, support groups (like Alcoholics Anonymous) and medical interventions if necessary.

We wish you the best of luck and love your way every day.
