PBS is Introducing a New FAST Channel on Roku Called PBS Retro With All of Your Nostalgic Favorites
There is something truly special about showing a young loved one a favorite show or movie that you grew up watching. PBS has been the home of some beloved children’s classics including Reading Rainbow, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Thomas and Friends and so many more. Now, PBS is offering a way to rewatch those nostalgic classics on a brand-new channel called PBS Retro.
It is a new free FAST channel available on Roku and will feature shows from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s in a 24/7 viewing experience. “We recognize how important PBS programming has been for generations and PBS Retro creates a space where viewers can revisit cherished shows from their youth but also share these timeless series with a new audience,” said Andrea Downing, President of PBS Distribution.
PBS Retro joins several other existing PBS channels including PBS Food, PBS | Antiques Roadshow and PBS Nature. On the Food Channel, you can discover tons of new recipes and watch classic shows featuring some of the most iconic chefs including Julia Child, Jacques Pepin and more. PBS Antiques Roadshow and Antiques Road Trip feature the hunt for the best vintage pieces and antique experts teach you what items are worth the most money.
If you’re interested in all things animals and nature, be sure to check out PBS Nature with an up-close look at some animal encounters even in the most remote places in the world. Do you ever watch reruns of PBS shows? Are you excited about PBS Retro? It is a great time for the channel to come out as summer vacation nears. As kids all over the country proclaim, “I’m bored!” and you’re out of activities, take a break and watch some of your old favorites and help them discover these beloved shows for the first time.
