According to Jim was one of those early-2000s sitcoms that seemed to be on TV all the time and followed a stubborn dad, a patient wife, kids running through the house, and plenty of arguments that usually wrapped up by the end of the episode. Like many sitcoms of the time, it aimed to show a realistic yet funny look into middle-class family life.

The series premiered on October 3, 2001, on CBS and ran for eight seasons, ending in 2009. By the time it was over, According to Jim had aired more than 180 episodes. Here is what happened to the main cast after the sitcom ended.

Jim Belushi starred as Jim, the lovable but often impossible husband and father at the center of the show. By the time According to Jim premiered, Belushi had already been famous for years from Saturday Night Live, K-9, Curly Sue, Red Heat, and plenty of other film and TV roles.

After According to Jim, Belushi kept acting. His later credits include The Defenders, Good Girls Revolt, Twin Peaks, Wonder Wheel, and Song Sung Blue. He also continued performing music, often keeping his connection to the world of the Blues Brothers alive.

In recent years, Belushi became known for something very different. Discovery’s Growing Belushi followed him at Belushi’s Farm in Oregon, where he runs a legal cannabis business. In 2026, he also began hosting the A&E series K9 PD with Jim Belushi, which follows police K-9 units during real calls and features body-cam footage.

She also starred in the TV movie series Emma Fielding Mysteries for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. More recent credits include Fresh Off the Boat, Mom, and the 2024 Lifetime movie He Slid Into Her DMs. She reunited with her Melrose castmates for the Still the Place podcast in 2024 and has been posting on Instagram.

In 2026, she was part of ABC’s 9-1-1: Nashville and returned as host of Farmer Wants a Wife.
