Where Are Tonya Harding & Nancy Kerrigan Now?

The infamous feud between Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan began 30 years ago. On January 6, 1994, American skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed in the knee around the time of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, just a month before she was set to compete at the Winter Olympics. Fellow skater Tonya Harding’s ex-husband Jeff Gillooly and bodyguard Shawn Eckardt were behind the attack, hoping to give Harding better odds.

Ultimately, Harding was convicted as being part of the incident and received three years probation, 500 hours of community service, and a $160,000 fine. She was also banned from the U.S. Figure Skating Association for life. The whole ordeal became so huge that movies have been made about it, including the 2017 biopic called I, Tonya. Which begs the question, where are the ladies now, 30 years later?

Kerrigan healed from her injuries and went on to continue competing. She won the silver medal at the 1994 Games in Lillehammer, Norway. She was inducted into the Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2004. Over the years, fans continued to see her on television. She has been a special correspondent during a few Olympics and competed on season 24 of Dancing with the Stars as well as The Bachelor Winter Games.

Overall though, she has retired and is now focusing on her family. She has been married to her former agent Jerry Solomon since 1995 and they have three children together. Kerrigan has been open with her fans about having six miscarriages over the years, which she said put a strain on her marriage. These days, she is doing well and recently released a children’s book called “Stronger Than She Thinks,” about an aspiring young skater.

Harding has long denied her involvement in the scandal but has admitted that she does feel guilty for what happened. She struggled with addiction and her mental health after the incident and was reportedly arrested twice and attempted suicide. She also released a sex tape with her ex-husband.

In 2010, her life seemed to turn around and she married Joseph Jens Price and they had a baby together. While she has mainly stayed out of the public eye since then, she made some comments in 2017 after the release of I, Tonya.

She said, “The media had me convicted of doing something wrong before I had even done anything at all. I am always the bad person. Is it a challenge from the Lord to see how far I can be pushed until I break and become nothing? You can’t push me that far anymore, because I have been nothing and I have been nothing several times.” Harding also confirmed that she and Kerrigan do not speak and never mended their relationship.

Harding also completed a few stints on reality television. She appeared on Dancing with the Stars and Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition. These days, she focuses on her family and says that she has been working as a custodian. She also skates for fun.
