Bob Denver was best known as bumbling Gilligan on the popular series Gilligan’s Island. While he continued acting after Gilligan’s Island ended and often reprised his role as the titular character on other sitcoms such as ALF and Baywatch, he also became a radio personality later in his life. Denver and his fourth wife, Dreama, moved to Princeton, West Virginia in the ’90s. It was there that they decided to start their own radio show and play the oldies.

The weekly radio program was called “Denver and Denver” and of course, starred Bob and Dreama Denver. The show premiered in 1997 and along with talking and joking around, the couple played some old classic songs they loved. In ’97, they opened up to the press about the radio show and why they chose to play the oldies.

Dreama shared, “We chose oldies because—I hate to admit my age—that’s my favorite music. That was really my era. Bob was in Hollywood working. Those were my years—the ’60s. I was growing up.” The show ran on the West Virginia radio station WGAG-LP 93.1 FM.

While many fans likely tuned in to listen to Bob, it was Dreama who dreamed up most of the show and chose the music each week, picking hits from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s and adding them to curated playlists to share with fans each week. It was even more of a pleasure to simply listen to the couple talk and it was clear that Bob’s final marriage was his happiest. The pair wed in 1979 and stayed together until his death in 2005.
