Beloved 97-year-old actor Dick Van Dyke reportedly got into a car accident in Malibu, California, last week. On Wednesday, the police responded to reports of a vehicle that had slid into a gate. The amazing Van Dyke was driving a 2018 Lexus LS 500 in the Los Angeles area that had been experiencing a lot of rain.

He was reportedly bleeding from the nose and mouth and officials were worried about a possible concussion. Van Dyke told the police that he lost control of the vehicle due to the rain and slammed into the gate. He declined to go to the hospital but was checked over by paramedics at the scene. Someone came and picked him up from the incident and took him home.

It seems it was just the slippery roads as sources say that drugs and alcohol were not involved. However, police officials are requesting a driving retest for Van Dyke due to his age and the accident. While he hasn’t been acting much in recent years, Malibu locals know that he visits homeless shelters from time to time in the area and hands out cash.
