Shannen Doherty Gets Emotional At ’90s Con After Standing Ovation

The ’90s are having another moment. Recently, many celebrities came together at the ’90s Con event in Tampa, Florida to reminisce about the days of their beloved shows. One of the shows that had a reunion was Beverly Hills, 90210 and stars Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Gabrielle Carteris came together to answer some burning fan questions.

Perhaps the most memorable guest was Doherty, who is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer. She has been very open about her struggles and has shared updates with fans every step of the way on social media. Toward the end of the panel, Doherty was given a standing ovation from the audience and she got very emotional. The 52-year-old said to the crowd, “Thank you so much. You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you.”

Back in June, Doherty said that unfortunately the cancer had spread to her brain and she was undergoing radiation therapy. She also had a tumor removed from her head. Not only is Doherty dealing with cancer treatments but the fallout from her divorce. She split from her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko in April after 11 years of marriage. Despite all of the hardships, Doherty is looking forward and has a very exciting project in the works.

Doherty is launching a podcast in November called Let’s Be Clear and she says it will be like a “live interactive memoir.” She added, “So you get to hear everything that I’ve refused to say before. I’m spilling the tea, but nicely!”
