How Well Do You Know ‘The Price Is Right?’
“Come on down!”
Those three words will be forever linked with former host of The Price Is Right, the late Bob Barker, who passed away over the weekend at the age of 99. Now hosted by Drew Carey, this phrase will live on as long as the show does, beckoning a lucky few in the studio audience to participate in daytime TV’s classic guessing game. Or, as Barney described it on an episode of How I Met Your Mother, “a microcosm of our entire economic system. A capitalist utopia.”
Though he is most well-known for hosting the classic game show, when Barker was asked how he would like to be remembered, he responded: “As the man who said, ‘Have your pets spayed or neutered.’” Barker was also a very avid animal rights activist.
