August 2 marks the release of the highly anticipated theatrical release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The TV series, which features a superhero team of turtles created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, has produced six theatrical feature-length films. The first film was released in 1990, at the height of the franchise’s popularity. It was a commercial success that led to two direct sequels, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze in 1991 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III in 1993. It was not until 2007 that the next film came out, titled TMNT, which was the first animated film in the series. Renowned producer/director Michael Bay produced two reboot series titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows that came out in 2014 and 2016.

Now that you have a little knowledge of the history behind the T.M.N.T. series, let’s see if you can remember what these lovable, historic turtles were actually up to in the films.
