What To Know

  • Laff TV has recently removed many late-night shows, such as Man With a Plan and Grounded For Life, replacing them with extended blocks of That ‘70s Show and gag reel programs.
  • The network cites contract expirations, viewer preferences, live events and business or regulatory changes as common reasons for programming adjustments.
  • It is unclear if the dropped shows will return, and viewers are encouraged to check Laff TV’s website for the latest schedule updates.

If you’re an avid watcher of Laff TV, especially the late-night hours, you may have noticed that many of your favorite shows, like Man With a PlanGrounded For Life and The Conners, are no longer airing on the network at night. Actually, only the The Conners remain on the network with an hour morning block (8a/7c and 8:30a/7:30c). So what happened to Laff TV’s late-night programming lineup?

These shows have been dropped for an extended block of That ‘70s Show and gag reel shows like Just for Laughs and Funniest Pets & People. But why did The Conners and the others go?

We reached out to Laff TV and are awaiting a response, but according to their website, programming can change for a variety of reasons and the network states these as the most common:

  • Contract Expirations and Renewals: Many programs are scheduled as part of agreements with content producers. Once these contracts expire, the network may lose the rights to air the show or event, or may negotiate new terms that could impact availability and timing.
  • Viewer Preferences and Ratings: Shifts in audience interests or lower-than-expected ratings may lead networks to make changes, moving or replacing programs to better align with viewer demand.
  • Live Events: Sometimes, live coverage or important events require immediate scheduling changes to provide viewers with timely information.
  • Business or Regulatory Changes: Networks must also occasionally respond to changes in regulations, industry standards, or company strategy, which can affect programming.

As will all networks, programming is always subject to change based on these and other factors. Laff’s site goes on to say that while they strive to provide viewers with accurate, up-to-date schedules, last-minute adjustments do occur and are a standard part of the media business. If you have questions about a specific program or schedule, check their website for the latest updates.

The digital over-the-air antenna channel devoted to throwback comedy appears to be super lean on programming throughout the day, too. The only shows that appear on the schedule are Home ImprovementBob Hearts AbisholaAccording to JimLast Man Standing, and a handful of others randomly thrown in.

Does this mean that these shows are gone forever, or will they be coming back anytime soon? Given the above info, it’s hard to say, but we do know they are committed to providing a healthy lineup of laughs.

We will be sure to update any more info we may find out. Meanwhile, you too can try to reach out to them at this link.
