When Mrs. Doubtfire hit theaters on November 24, 1993, it quickly became one of the most beloved family films, resonating with both kids and their parents while delivering plenty of laughs. At the center of it all was Robin Williams, whose performance as Daniel Hillard and his alter ego, Mrs. Doubtfire, remains one of his most memorable roles.

More than 30 years later, the cast has taken very different paths, with some staying in the spotlight and others stepping into entirely new careers. In honor of the legacy of Williams, let’s find out what the rest of the main cast is up to now.

She has also taken on television roles in series like Dispatches from Elsewhere and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

In addition to acting, Field has continued her advocacy work on osteoporosis awareness and LGBTQ+ issues. Sally stars in Netflix’s upcoming movie release, Remarkably Bright Creatures, premiering on May 8.

Brosnan has continued acting steadily across film and television. While he is still closely associated with Bond, he has starred in several movies and television shows in recent years, including 2025’s MobLand, Giant, and The Thursday Murder Club. He has also remained active in environmental advocacy, particularly focused on ocean conservation.

She has written about anxiety and life after child stardom and founded the platform Blue Mala, which focuses on mental health resources.

In 2024, she reunited with Mara Wilson and Matthew Lawrence on the Brotherly Love podcast, reflecting on their time making the film.

More recently, Lawrence co-hosts the podcast Brotherly Love with his brothers Joey and Andrew Lawrence. He has also spoken in interviews about his experience working with Robin Williams, often describing him as a mentor during filming. As she got older, she chose to step away from on-screen acting. She has since built a career as a writer and voice performer, publishing her memoir, Where Am I Now?, and contributing essays to outlets such as The New York Times and Elle. In 2025, she was part of a group that won an Audie Award for audiobook narration.
