One of the greatest sitcoms of all time, The Golden Girls, is headed to MeTV. The series will return to free broadcast television for the first time in 29 years, making this something to celebrate. Grab your friends, your favorite slice of cheesecake, and get ready for Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia on weeknights with two episodes starting at 10 pm and Sunday nights at 6 pm and 8-10 pm, starting on Monday, March 16, 2026.

“The popularity of The Golden Girls is unlike that of almost any other comedy in television history – sharply written and distinctive for portraying and celebrating mature leading female characters as vital, engaged, sexy and downright funny,” said Neal Sabin, vice-chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co. “The show is a phenomenon, spanning all corners of pop culture and fan appreciation. It is a true honor to bring the series back to broadcast television as part of MeTV’s lineup, where viewers of all ages can tune in and enjoy this truly memorable and entertaining series.”

Joining other classic TV shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond, M*A*S*H, The Andy Griffith Show and The Carol Burnett Show, The Golden Girls follows the lives of four older women living together in Miami, showcasing friendships and chosen family. The series is praised for tackling subjects rarely addressed in sitcoms of that era including aging, racism and mental health. The series ran for seven seasons and received 68 Emmy nominations and 11 wins. Now, take a look at the premiere week schedule, courtesy of MeTV.
