What To Know

  • Jenilee Harrison joined Three’s Company in Season 5 as Cindy.
  • After leaving the show, Jenille found success on Dallas.
  • Today, Jenilee embraces her Three’s Company legacy.

Due to contract negotiations with Suzanne Somers, Jenilee Harrison joined Three’s Company during Season 5, playing Chrissy’s cousin, Cindy, a cute but klutzy farm girl with enough similarities to Suzanne’s character that the writers didn’t have to do much to the episodes that had already been written for the season. A few minor edits and voila, Chrissy’s lines became Cindy’s.

Although Jenilee was a relative newcomer to TV audiences, she’d already been performing in front of huge crowds for a couple of years. You see, Jenilee was a Los Angeles Rams cheerleader. She was actually part of the very first squad for the Rams, and that exposure led to her very first TV gig on CHiPs. And wouldn’t you know it, on that TV show, she played a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams!

I really enjoyed the episodes of Three’s Company that Jenilee appeared in. Truthfully, I never understood why the producers of the show decided to bring on Priscilla Barnes. The character of Cindy filled the void left by Suzanne’s departure quite nicely and Jenilee got along with everyone involved in making the show.

Here’s what she told Fox News in 2025, “When I got on Three’s Company, I was welcomed with open arms. They treated me lovely. They treated me like a little sister… And the girls [on set], we protected one another, and we supported one another.”

Despite getting added to the opening title credits during Season 6, that season turned out to be her last with the show as the scripts centered more around Jack, Janet and Terri.

Moving on from Three’s Company, Jenilee starred in Dallas, playing Jamie Ewing from 1984 to 1987. Her character had the honor of dying not once, but twice on that show due to that crazy season that just turned out to be one of Bobby Ewing’s dreams.

After making tons of guest appearances on television shows during the late ’80s, the next decade didn’t appear to be quite as fruitful for Jenilee. Sure, she made a handful of appearances in B-movies such as Illicit Behavior and Fists of Iron. But it would also seem that Jenilee started focusing on her state of fitness, both body and mind.

In 1993, Jenilee tied the knot with a prominent Los Angeles-area chiropractor and also discovered that her love of physical fitness allowed her to find opportunities on infomercials for exercise products. The one that I remember best was for the Ab Flex, a low-cost device that promised amazing results if one would just consistently use it. Most folks who purchased the item, me included, did not.

More recently, Jenilee has really embraced her Three’s Company roots by appearing at various conventions and other events where fans can visit and get autographs. Along with Richard Kline, Joyce DeWitt, and Priscilla Barnes, she also participated in the Three’s Company 40th Anniversary TV show which aired a few years back on Antenna TV.

It’s exciting to now see Jenilee active on Instagram where she has amassed several thousand followers over the past few years. Along with sharing memories from her time on Three’s Company and Dallas, Jenilee also uses the social media site to talk about her love for her many four-legged furry friends.

All in all, Jenilee’s life seems to be exactly where she hoped it would be. She’s a retired actress, who is able to fondly celebrate many cherished moments from years gone by. That’s what we all hope for, right? As we get a bit older and maybe just a tiny bit wiser, we all want to be able to look back and feel good about what we’ve accomplished over the years … and Jenilee can certainly do that.
