A blue-collar sitcom with a surreal streak, The Drew Carey Show ran for nine seasons on ABC from 1995 to 2004 and became one of the defining comedies of the late ’90s. And now, the series is easier than ever to stream.
Created by Drew Carey and Bruce Helford, the series starred Carey as a fictionalized version of himself, an underachieving assistant director of personnel at the Winfred-Louder department store in Cleveland, Ohio. The series follows Drew as he remains perpetually stuck in a job he hates, navigating office politics, awkward romances, and the daily grind alongside his lifelong friends Lewis Kiniski (Ryan Stiles) and Oswald Lee Harvey (Diedrich Bader), as well as his sometimes love interest Kate O’Brien (Christa Miller). He frequently clashes with his pink-adorned nemesis Mimi Bobeck (Kathy Kinney) and his strict British boss Nigel Wick (Craig Ferguson), but for the most part, Drew’s world revolves around friendship, stalled ambition, and finding small victories in an otherwise ordinary life.

Since it ended, The Drew Carey Show has been slightly difficult to find online for many years due to music rights issues. The series famously used popular music, including its theme songs “Moon Over Parma,” “Five O’Clock World,” and The Presidents of the United States of America’s cover of “Cleveland Rocks” (introduced in the third season), as well as tracks by artists like Joe Walsh and The Edgar Winter Group.
These were songs that, at the time, were only cleared for original broadcast, not for home media or streaming.
“It’s not in syndication … because of music rights and stuff,” Carey confirmed to TV Insider back in 2024. “We’re going to try to change that around and get it back out there.”

For those looking for an even simpler option, all nine seasons of the series are now available to watch on YouTube. The official The Drew Carey Show YouTube channel currently hosts the entire run of the series, featuring every season with the original music fully intact.
So now, fans can enjoy the antics of Carey and his buddies as they raise heck around Cleveland to the songs that inspired their hijinks back in the day.
