What To Know

  • Heather Thomas stepped away from acting primarily due to safety concerns from stalkers and to focus on raising her family after marrying entertainment attorney Skip Brittenham.
  • She has since become active in philanthropy, serving on advisory boards and hosting fundraising events, and published a novel in 2008 titled Trophies.
  • In 2024, Thomas delighted fans by reuniting with Lee Majors for a cameo in the new The Fall Guy movie.

One of my favorite shows from the early eighties is The Fall Guy, which stars Lee Majors as a Hollywood stuntman who also moonlights as a bounty hunter to make ends meet. I love this show for a couple of reasons.

First and foremost, it featured the Six Million Dollar Man himself, and I’ll be darned if Lee Majors didn’t really seem to have a great sense of humor about his role as Colt Seavers. Of course, the other reason was the excellent supporting cast — and, if we are to get more specific, a young lady by the name of Heather Thomas.

I was a big fan of Ms. Thomas’s work on the show, and I’m quite positive I wasn’t alone. She became a very popular character, especially with the demographic of young men between the ages of 12 and 18. While The Fall Guy was on ABC, I worked as a store clerk at our local Kmart, and I remember her posters flying off the shelves.

So, what happened to Heather Thomas? Where did she go? Although she continued to find work for a time, a couple of things caused Heather to step away from the limelight — including some thoroughly chilling encounters with fans.

The biggest reason that Heather Thomas stepped back from her acting career was, sadly, overly zealous and potentially dangerous fans who caused her to fear for her safety.

Speaking to Reuters in 2009, Heather said, “I was getting so stalked. I had one guy climb over the fence with a knife one time. I had these two little girls and they desperately needed raising, so that was that.”

Secondly, Heather got married to well-known entertainment attorney Skip Brittenham and  in the late nineties, she decided the time was right to devote her time and attention to taking care of her family instead of acting.

Additionally, Heather has become extremely involved in causes she believes in. In the past, she and her husband served as joint hosts of a monthly fundraising breakfast gathering at their home, which has become known in Washington as the “L.A. Café.” Additionally, Heather has served on the advisory boards of both the Rape Foundation and the Amazon Conservation Team.

In 2008, Heather published a novel titled Trophies which is about Hollywood wives and fundraising, something that I suspect Heather knows a thing or two about. Heather has also maintained a presence through her social media activity, specifically X, where she frequently posts about causes the she is passionate about.

More recently, fans were treated to a surprise when Heather and Lee Majors reunited for a cameo in the 2024 The Fall Guy movie starring Ryan Gosling. Appearing together in a mid-credits scene as police officers, it was a satisfying payoff for fans of the original series as well as both of these actors.
