How did Olivia Thirlby begin her career?

Thirlby was born on October 6, 1986, in New York City and raised in Manhattan’s East Village. She trained extensively in classical acting at the American Globe Theatre and completed a stage combat course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Her professional screen career began with minor roles in United 93 and the TV series Kidnapped, but everything shifted in 2007 when Juno became a cultural phenomenon.

Thirlby then moved between indie films and studio projects. She appeared in The Wackness, No Strings Attached and the science-fiction thriller The Darkest Hour, before earning lasting fan loyalty as Judge Cassandra Anderson in Dredd in 2012.
