‘Little House on the Prairie’ Stars Reveal the Props They Wish They’d Stolen

What To Know

  • Several Little House on the Prairie cast members reunited on Patrick Labyorteaux’s podcast.
  • Each actor shared which prop they wish they could have kept.
  • The conversation was part of the lead-up to a special Little House on the Prairie Christmas reunion.

Over on The Patrick LabyorSheaux with Patrick Labyorteaux, the former Andy Garvey hosted a mini reunion of sorts on the podcast in preparation for the upcoming Christmas Little House on the Prairie reunion in Simi Valley on December 12 through 14.

Joined by Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder), Pamela Roylance (Sarah Carter), and Jennifer Donati (Baby Rose Wilder), Labyorteaux spent 45 minutes rehashing Little House memories from their first day on the set to their worst and best memories, all in good fun.

Among the questions, LabyorSheaux asked the gang, “Here’s the question for everybody: It’s not something that you actually do have or retained from the show, [but] if you could have anything from Little House on the Prairie, what would you take home with you?”

“The big, gorgeous glass jars on the mercantile counter,” said Arngrim. “Those were just stunning. And the candy. And Nellie’s brass bed…with the white painting and the little decor on the headboard. Ohh. I liked that.”

“I would want my original hat that I had,” said Butler. “I loved that hat. I have a copy of it that’s similar, but I would love to have to have that particular hat. That would be my favorite thing.”

Roylance wanted something a little more iconic. “I’d like the Sunday blue dress,” said the Little House matriarch. “The blue dress for everything. It was for weddings, cemeteries, Sunday…It was [for] all that. I’d like that.”

“I’ll give you one guess,” said Donati, who was a mere infant during her run of the show. “It’s probably going to be the baby blanket. The one that I was brought out in. The little pink [one].”

“I’m with Dean. But I would want Merlin’s hat. Merlin’s hat was iconic,” said Patrick of Merlin Olsen, who played his adopted father, Jonathan Garvey, on the show.

“Either that or Michael Landon‘s chest. I would love to have that chest!,” joked the host of the show’s buffed-out star.
