Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed the touching Robin Williams memento he wore on the set of Jumanji 3 as filming officially began.
On November 18, Johnson took to Instagram with a video as production kicked off for the third installment of the film franchise.
“A little Day 1 of Jumanji excitement,” the former WWE star said in the clip after waving to tour buses of screaming fans. “That was cool. It’s so good to be shooting in Los Angeles. I have not shot a film in Los Angeles in I don’t know when.”
He added, “So it feels so good to bring a production back home to Los Angeles. And have our hardworking crews sleep in their own bed every night — it’s very cool — and especially just a big, fun movie like Jumanji.”
That’s when Johnson showed off an “Easter egg” in the form of a necklace featuring a very special die.
“This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams as a show of respect and a way of honoring Robin and this entire franchise that he started as we film our very last Jumanji, the big finale.”

In the comments, Johnson’s followers reacted to his tribute to Williams, who died by suicide at 63 in 2014. “Robin Williams will never be forgotten,” one Instagram user declared.
Another fan shared, “Robin forever 🕊️.”
Someone else wrote, “Thank you🙏 for honouring Robin 😍.”
A different Instagram user echoed, “Amazing memento.”

Jumanji was released in 1995. It starred Williams as Alan Parrish, Bradley Pierce as Peter Shepherd, Kirsten Dunst as Judy Shepherd, Bonnie Hunt as Sarah Whittle, and Jonathan Hyde as both Van Pelt and Alan’s father, Sam Parrish.
In 2017, Johnson took on the lead role of Dr. Smolder Bravestone in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle alongside Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. He reprised his role in Jumanji: The Next Level (2019).
