After getting an invite to a reunion with his old military buddies, Herman has to go on a strict diet to fit back into his old army uniform. Unfortunately for him, the last day of his diet is on Thanksgiving. This hilarious episode aired in 1964, and remains a fan favorite.

Where to Watch: The Munsters, Season 1, is streaming on Peacock with a subscription and on Roku and Tubi free with ads.

The Brady Bunch, “The Un Underground Movie”

Season 2, Episode 4

BRADY BUNCH, Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, 'The Un-underground Movie', (Season 2), 1969-1974

Everett Collection

This episode follows Greg Brady as he directs a school project about the Pilgrims, which naturally pulls the entire family into a Thanksgiving-themed production — and, of course, chaos ensues.

Where to Watch: The Brady Bunch is streaming on Paramount+.

WKRP in Cincinnati, “Turkeys Away”

Season 1, Episode 7

'Turkey Drop' - 'WKRP in Cincinatti'

In what is the series’ most famous episode, station manager Arthur Carlson decides to promote WKRP by dropping turkeys from a helicopter to celebrate the Thanksgiving season. But when he and Herb Tarlek actually get down to business and begin tossing turkeys to the street below … well, let’s just say that the station’s fans aren’t grateful.

Where to Watch: WKRP in Cincinnati can be purchased on Apple TV

Happy Days, “The First Thanksgiving”

Season 6, Episode 12

HAPPY DAYS, (Front L-R), Marion Ross, Henry Winkler, (Back L-R), Ron Howard, Anson Williams, Al Molinaro, Donny Most, 1974-1984

Paramount/Everett Collection

In this 1978 episode, Marion Cunningham teaches the gang about the Pilgrims — since everyone else seems to think the true meaning of Thanksgiving is about sitting around and watching football on TV. In the end, the whole family ends up acting out a silly reenactment of the first Thanksgiving.

Where to Watch: Happy Days is currently streaming on Paramount+, but due to rights issues, you can only watch this episode on DVD.
