Whatever Happened to the Bewitching Caroline Rhea?

Caroline Rhea has always had a gift for making people laugh, whether she was playing the witty Aunt Hilda on Sabrina the Teenage Witch or keeping audiences entertained with her stand-up comedy. Born on April 13, 1964, the Canadian actress and comedian recently turned 61 and shows no signs of slowing down. Her career has taken her from sitcoms to game shows to voice acting and daytime television, and she is now set to appear in the upcoming CBS series Sheriff Country, a spinoff of Fire Country.
In the new series, she plays Gina, the assistant to Morena Baccarin‘s character Mickey Fox, and the show is set to premiere on October 17, 2025. It is a fresh chance for her to show a different and more dramatic side of her acting skills.

Touchstone Television/Everett Collection
For many, including myself, Rhea will always be Aunt Hilda, the mischievous witch who helped raise Sabrina, but her career has been far more wide-ranging. She lent her voice to Linda Flynn-Fletcher on Phineas and Ferb, hosted The Caroline Rhea Show, and even emceed the first three seasons of The Biggest Loser. She also popped up regularly as a panelist on Match Game with Alec Baldwin.

Netflix/Everett Collection
Recently, she reunited with her Sabrina co-star, Beth Broderick, in the Hallmark film Holiday Mismatch, where the two played meddling mothers who unexpectedly become friends. Fans of the old sitcom were treated to a fun Easter egg, as Rhea’s character even wore a piece from Aunt Hilda’s wardrobe. They also reunited in the Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, reprising their roles briefly as Hilda and Zelda.
Even with her television work, Rhea has never given up on stand-up. She continues to tour across the country and recently filmed her seventh special at the Sydney Opera House. She has several tour dates coming up. Get her full schedule here.
