Ike Eisenmann will always be remembered as Tony Malone, the telepathic orphan boy who stole hearts in Disney’s 1975 adventure Escape to Witch Mountain. Paired with Kim Richards as his telekinetic twin sister, Tia, the then 13-year-old Eisenmann helped turn the film into a ’70s family classic. Have you ever wondered what Eisenmann has been up to in more recent years? Let’s find out!

Eisenmann, who is now 63 years old, was born on July 21, 1962, in Houston, Texas. He emerged from child actor fame into a busy television career, guest starring on shows like CHiPs, Wonder Woman, Little House on the Prairie and starring in the NBC sci-fi series The Fantastic Journey in 1977. Off screen, he became the voice of the Little Green Sprout in Green Giant commercials.

As Eisenmann moved into his teens and early twenties, he embraced more challenging roles. In 1982, he starred in the TV movie Dreams Don’t Die as a graffiti artist in New York pursuing his passion. That same year, he appeared in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan as Midshipman Peter Preston, the nephew of Scotty. He also appeared with Marlon Brando and George C. Scott in the thriller The Formula.

However, by his mid twenties, Eisenmann chose to step away from acting. He built a successful career in post production, joining the LA loop group known as the LA Maddogs, providing voices and sounds for over one thousand films, including American Beauty, Meet the Parents, Madagascar and the Shrek series, often credited under the alternative name Iake Eissinmann.

Eisenmann also explored other creative paths, becoming a painter known for large scale photorealistic work. Later, he relocated to Florida and opened a small digital animation studio in Orlando.

In 2002, he wrote, directed and appeared in a spoof short, The Blair Witch Mountain Project, a playful nod to his most famous film. Though he had avoided the spotlight for years, Eisenmann returned briefly in 2009 for the Disney reboot Race to Witch Mountain, alongside Kim Richards. The two made a small cameo as a sheriff and a waitress.

In recent years, Eisenmann has embraced his role as a ’70s icon while living a quieter, creative life. He resides in Florida with his wife and often shares memories on his social media pages from his time as a child star.
