Jill St. John, born Jill Arlyn Oppenheim on August 19, 1940, in Los Angeles to restaurateur Edward Oppenheim and philanthropist Betty Goldberg. She began acting at five years old and made her television debut at six on Sandy Dreams, a local show about a small girl who goes on dream adventures. Eventually, St. John appeared in The Christmas Carol in 1949.

She signed to Universal Pictures at 16, and her first film under that contract was Summer Love in 1958. She then attended Hollywood Professional School and even began courses at UCLA Extension at the age of 15.

St. John flourished in the 1960s across both film and television. Her roles included Jennifer Holmes in The Lost World, Rosemary Hoyt in Tender Is the Night, and Peggy John in Come Blow Your Horn, the latter earning her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a musical or comedy. She also co-starred alongside comedy legends in Who’s Minding the Store?, Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed?, Honeymoon Hotel, The Liquidator, The Oscar, and Tony Rome.

Her most iconic role was as Tiffany Case, the first American Bond girl, in Diamonds Are Forever, starring opposite Sean Connery. On television, she appeared on such popular shows as Batman (as Molly), Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Magnum, P.I., Seinfeld, and many others.

In her personal life, she has been married four times, to Neil Dubin (1957–1958), Lance Reventlow (1960–1963), Jack Jones (1967–1969), and since 1990 to actor Robert Wagner, whom she had first met in the late ’50s and reconnected with in the early 1980s. The couple eventually relocated to Aspen after selling their Brentwood home in 2007. Jill is a stepmother to Wagner’s three daughters, Katie, Natasha Gregson, and Courtney.

In 1972, she largely stepped away from Hollywood for life in Aspen, Colorado. There she cultivated a culinary persona, appearing in cooking segments on Good Morning America, penning a regular column in USA Weekend, and publishing The Jill St. John Cookbook in 1987. She also launched a handcrafted Angora sweater business.

Now 85 years old, where is she now? She has reportedly remained rooted in Aspen, where she and Wagner built a home and a quieter lifestyle away from Hollywood, and in May 2025, they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Her days are often filled with the simple pleasures she has always enjoyed, including gardening, cooking, and skiing. She has also shown an interest in civic duty. In 2023, she ran for a seat on Aspen’s Fire Department board, and although she did not win, it shows her willingness to show up for her city and stay involved.
