She’s rocked stadiums for more than six decades, but Suzi Quatro says one of her most recent concerts left her truly shaken. The legendary performer, who just turned 75, opened up about a terrifying moment when an overzealous fan grabbed her mid-show and tried to pull her off the stage and left her in tears.

She shared in an interview with Mirror, “In Germany recently I had taken my bass off towards the end of a show. Walking along the front, people were high-fiving me — but one girl grabbed my hand and wouldn’t let go and tried to pull me off the stage. And she was strong. I was really scared — I was crying.”

She continued, “I backed up and sat down on the flight case I use, so nobody saw anything. I sang my final song and, as soon as I finished, a sound engineer came on, wrapped a towel around me and walked me offstage. But I was thinking, what kind of person thinks that’s OK? I could have broken my neck.”

The Detroit native, who’s known for her powerful stage presence, later took to Instagram to share her frustration. Posting a throwback photo from an article about the show, she wrote, “This just popped up on my memories.. what a nightmare…said it then and will say it again.. wish I knew who this was and could give her a piece of my mind. Silence all round. Somebody out there must know and they aren’t talking. File this under Grrrrrrr.. Suit is fixed and being worn, so I have the last laugh.” Fans flooded the post with support, many expressing shock that no one stepped in to help her sooner.

Quatro has long prided herself on staying strong and independent in the male-dominated world of rock music. She’s still performing high-energy shows and gearing up for a major UK tour in 2026. Despite the scare, Quatro hasn’t missed a beat. She’s already working on a new album that includes a collaboration with Alice Cooper, and she continues to write, perform and tour.
