On February 11, 1975, Maureen McCormick stepped out of the Brady Bunch groovy ’70s world and into 1950s Milwaukee as guest star Hildie on Happy Days. In the season 2, episode 16 titled “Cruisin’,” she appeared as a spirited young woman involved in a drag race mishap that drew in Richie Cunningham, Potsie Weber and Ralph Malph.

After Marion Cunningham dents Richie’s car, he, Potsie and Ralph are handed Howard’s DeSoto to go cruising. They meet Hildie and her friends, only to realize those girls are dating members of a local gang called the Dragons. The episode escalates into a drag race showdown, with Fonzie eventually saving the boys from serious trouble.

McCormick earned guest credit as Hildie, the girlfriend of one of the Dragons. This cameo was a rare peek at McCormick outside of her iconic role as Marcia Brady. Up to that point she had already appeared in other sitcoms in the 1960s and early 1970s, including Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Honey West and My Three Sons. However, this small role on Happy Days gave her a chance to play a teen troublemaker rather than all-American sweetheart.

What other notable guest stars do you remember popping up in the beloved series?
