Cheri Oteri returned to the Fly on the Wall podcast with fellow former Saturday Night Live alums Dana Carvey and David Spade, and dove into her memory of “one of the best experiences of my life” — the day when Oteri, famous for her SNL impressions of Barbara Walters, got to interview the legendary newswoman while dressed … as Barbara Walters.

In an Instagram clip, she shared the story of her Barbara-on-Barbara interview, which occurred on Walters’ final day filming The View. Oteri began, “They fly me in, we are dressed exactly alike. We look exactly like we’re sitting across from each other.”

The podcast then shows a clip of the interview, and Oteri continues, “The cameras are setting up and then she looks at the monitor, she goes, ‘My hair! My Hair!’ Her hair guy comes in, [making noise], he walks off and then she’s making small talk with me. And then she goes ‘My hair, why does my hair look like this?’ Her hair guy comes in and [making noise] and then goes back and then we’re right about to shoot.”

She concluded, “And then she looks at it and she goes, ‘What the hell is going on with my hair?’ And then the guy comes in and he whispers to her, he whispers, ‘Barbara, you’re looking at Cheri’s monitor,'” and joked, “Still, no one fixed my hair.”

Oteri admitted it was “the highlight of my life interviewing her as her.”
