Jeff Lynne’s ELO Suddenly Cancels a Farewell Show — Is the Final Tour in Jeopardy? Fans Await Health Update

Fans of Jeff Lynne‘s ELO are upset tonight, after the band abruptly cancelled one of their final shows — after concertgoers had already packed the arena. The band was scheduled to play at Manchester, UK’s Co-Op Live on July 10, 2025 — but the show cancelled due to illness mere minutes before it was supposed to begin..
A post on social media read, “Unfortunately due to illness tonight’s (Thursday July 10, 2025) scheduled performance of Jeff Lynne’s ELO at the Co-op Live will not be going ahead. Jeff is devastated he cannot perform this evening. More information will become available as soon as possible. For refunds please go to your point of purchase.”
Some fans were quite angry on social media, while others were more understanding — especially since Lynne has had some health issues as of late. However, some fans have traveled many miles and spent a lot of money to see the show, and wondered how they could possibly get refunds. Lynne reportedly injured his hand and has been unable to hold his guitar in recent shows.
One fan wrote on social media, according to Manchester Evening News, “Tonight’s ELO concert cancelled at 8.10 pm. Jeff Lynne too ill. Devastated. Hope he’s ok. Had tickets since December.” Another shared, “Jeff Lynne’s ELO cancelling 12 MINUTES before they’re due on stage. That’s tragic.”
Someone else posted, “Been sat in @CoopManchester live waiting for @JeffLynnesELO. The organisers have waited until everybody sat down before they announced Jeff Lynne wouldn’t be playing. That’s after everyone spent out on parking, food and merch.”

It seems that fans were told to leave the venue around 8:15 pm. However, the cancellation may come as no surprise to some, as fans at the Manchester show the night before made comments on the Jeff Lynne ELO Facebook Fan page about how Lynne did not seem well.
“Well I have just come out from the ELO concert and what can I say. Jeff Lynne had to be helped onto the stage…..he was missing his cues, forgetting words and almost collapsed two thirds of the way through the concert. They had to bring him a chair and he was struggling to stay on it.”
The band is supposed to have their final farewell show in London’s Hyde Park on June 13, but it is yet unknown if that show will go on as planned. Jeff Lynne kicked off his final tour last year in the US and was set to wrap in his home country with a grand 5-date affair.
