Do You Remember Farrah Fawcett’s Classic TV Commercials? (VIDEO)

In the 1970s, everyone wanted to be as sexy and successful as Farrah Fawcett — and advertisers knew it. With her fluffy feathered hair, megawatt smile and come hither (and buy this!) voice, Fawcett became a popular pitch woman even before she took pop culture flight as one of Charlie’s Angels.
By the mid 1980s, Fawcett went on to critical acclaim in serious roles and left the commercial world behind her. But to celebrate television’s forever Golden Girl, who passed away on June 25, 2009, at age 62, let’s look back at Farrah Fawcett’s most memorable ads — some with famous costars.
Grin and buy it
Ultra Brite toothpaste
Fawcett’s teeth were perfectly straight and whiter than snow, and her smile showed them off to full effect. Throughout the ’70s, she flashed her grin to shill the product that “turned toothpaste from dull to dynamite.”
Noxzema shave cream
Fawcett crooned as she cooled off NFL star Joe Namath‘s pre-razor mug with the skincare brand’s shave cream.
FTD’s Forget-Me-Not Bouquet
Bouquet is French for a bunch of flowers. And debonair French actor Louis Jourdan of Gigi and Octopussy fame made Farrah grin when he bought her one in the early ’70s.
Getting A-Head
Wella Balsam shampoo (1974)
Who didn’t want hair like Farrah’s? Even if you weren’t blessed with a head of blond strands like hers — and it was highly unlikely that she used the stuff — Farrah and her strands had dozens of beauty companies adding balsam to their wares.
Head & Shoulders shampoo
Hard to imagine a flake lurking among those silky strands — and that was probably the point of Fawcett pitching the anti-dandruff shampoo. In this one, she costars with a nonplussed Penny Marshall.
Fabergé’s Farrah Fawcett Shampoo
Namath is back, towel-clad and admiring as he and a lusty Fawcett shill Farrah’s namesake shampoo that gave your hair — ahem — great body. Plus, he noted, buyers could say they shower with Farrah Fawcett (shampoo).
Lady Schick Speed Styler blow dryer
How did Farrah get those “flippy curls” in a jiffy? Let her tell you herself.
Virtues and Vices
American Cancer Society
The very picture of glowing good health, Fawcett reminded ladies to take care of themselves and get their cancer screenings in this early ’80s PSA.
Dubonnet
Boasting a Stetson and neckerchief, Fawcett flirted with a pre-Magnum Tom Selleck to sell this fortified wine based mixer.
Winchester Cigars
Fawcett and Rollerball‘s John Beck were “somethin’ else” in this early ’70s ad for the mini cigars.
On the Road and in the Air
Mercury Cougar cars
Think of Mercury Cougar models as Grandma-and-Grandpa cars? Well, in the 1970s, they were the very model of “new action for the cat set,” just $4,791, and Farrah drove hers in a spaghetti-strapped silk gown. Hey, look!
Continental Airlines
In 1975, Farrah played a cat-loving airline hostess happily exhausted by the job she loves.
