While getting pregnant over the age of 35 may be considered a “geriatric pregnancy,” it is still very natural to have a baby in your 40s or even 50s. Some Hollywood stars prove that they will never stop having children, even well into their 80s. Al Pacino recently passed Robert De Niro as the oldest dad in Hollywood when he announced that he is expecting his first child with his 29-year-old girlfriend, Noor Alfallah. 83-year-old Pacino already has three kids, who are well into adulthood.

Meanwhile, De Niro just confirmed the birth of his seventh child at the age of 79. This leads us to question, which other stars, both men and women, have had children later in life? You can’t forget Brigitte Nielsen, who made headlines after welcoming her fifth child at the age of 54 after years of fertility treatments. Other moms prefer adoption, like Hoda Kotb who adopted her first child at the age of 52 and adopted another baby girl a few years later.

Diane Keaton proved that you don’t need a significant other to have kids when she adopted her two children, Dexter and Duke in her 50s as a single woman. Janet Jackson had to put her tour on hold back in 2016 after she became pregnant at the age of 49 and had a son just after her 50th birthday. We can’t forget that Hilary Swank just had twins at the age of 48 and said it was a blessing.

Obviously, it is easier for men to have children later in life and many celebrities have purposely waited until they were older to procreate. Jeff Goldblum didn’t have kids until his 60s and admitted, “I’m glad I waited. It feels great to do it right now, because all the things I’m considering are perfectly suited to the big questions and challenges of having kids, and what you want to expose them to.” Others figured that their time to be a dad was up until they met the right person. John Stamos had his first baby at the age of 54 with his younger wife, Caitlin. He said he thought he would never have a wife and a child so he feels like they gave him a new reason to live.

Steve Martin also chose to have a baby in his 60s and revealed that he thinks he’s a better father now than he would have been earlier in life. He said, “I think if I’d had a child earlier, I would have been a lousy father because I would have misplaced my attention on my career.” Alec Baldwin is another star that is in the news with his wife seemingly always expecting. At the age of 60, he has several young children and an adult daughter.

Naomi Campbell just shared that she had her second child at 53 years old, about two years after having her first child. Campbell aims to keep most details about her children private but did announce the birth in a post that read, “My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A True Gift from God. Welcome Babyboy.”

Some other older Hollywood dads include Bruce Willis, who shares two young children with his wife Emma Heming-Willis, Michael Douglas who became a father later in life with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Mick Jagger who has eight children, one of whom was born in his late 60s. What’s your take on people having kids later and later in life?
