Did You Know Helen Hunt Is a Baseball Fanatic?

Helen Hunt is best known for her roles in shows and movies such as Mad About You and Twister, but did you know that she is also a huge baseball fan? She recently shared a selfie outside of the iconic Wrigley Field in Chicago, where the Chicago Cubs play. Hunt herself is a Los Angeles Dodgers fans and is often seen at the games.
In her post, she also pointed out that the Cubs were about to play the Dodgers in Toyko for the first game of the 2025 season. While she was clearly rooting for the Dodgers (who ended up winning that game), she took some time to marvel at Wrigley Field, calling the stadium “a work of art.”

So, what was Hunt doing in Chicago besides taking a stroll past Wrigley Field? It appears that she is staying there while she acts in Harold Pinter‘s Betrayal at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Turns out that Hunt, who appears in the play with Ian Barford and Robert Sean Leonard, has been wanting to nab the role for many years. The show, which has no intermission, follows an affair backwards in time from the aftermath to how it began.

Pinter wrote the play back in 1978, based on his own extramarital affair, and its actors say the play is very intense, emotional and, at times, a “little disorienting.” Hunt said that she was asked to do the play years ago but her schedule didn’t allow it, but she is grateful that she now has the time. She gushed about the director, Susan Booth, and said to Playbill, “She’s so smart and so clear and listens in such a clear way, too, which is a rare thing in anybody, much less a director.”
Hunt will appear from in the play until the end of March if you’re interested in getting tickets to a show.
