Country music icon Randy Travis has a very exciting year ahead. Not only is he heading out on a new tour called “More Life,” but he is also excited about a new biopic coming out about his life. First, let’s talk about the tour, as it will be different than fans have ever seen due to his health challenges. In 2013, Travis suffered from a stroke that left him unable to talk or sing. Instead of Travis performing his own songs, he has hired a vocalist named James Dupré to perform alongside his touring band. Travis and his wife, Mary, stay onstage to interact with fans.

Travis shared about the 2025 tour, “The More Life Tour celebrates so much more than a musical moment in time. It’s a gift to me to spend time with my fans, and my band, as James Dupré perfectly presents the songs that best define my career.”

While Travis is unable to perform like he once did, he has found creative ways to continue working. This year, he released a song called “Where That Came From,” with the help of AI to re-create his voice. Travis is also gearing up for a new biopic about his life, titled Forever and Ever, Amen after his hit song and memoir. Clay Walker has been cast to portray Travis in the film, which will follow the highs and lows of his life and career.

Travis’ wife Mary shared her thoughts after reading the script: “This is what we prayed for — for somebody who would tell Randy’s life story just as he lived it.” She added about her husband, “He had bumps and bruises and rough spots. But Randy never, ever ran from those, and he never denied them. He accepted them. He learned from them. He moved on, and he used them as an inspiration for others.”

Walker added that fans “are going to find out the deep struggles that he had. I look at Randy’s life, and I see redemption. This is a man who’s overcome all those challenges. He’s survived it all. Everybody knows that golden voice of his, but I think this movie is going to endear him to people in a whole new way.”

Filming is expected to start this summer, and the film may be released in spring 2026. See tour dates and get tickets here.
