Christie Brinkley Shares Private Mementos That Inspired Her Memoir
Actor and model Christie Brinkley took to Instagram to share some of the private papers and mementoes she used to write her upcoming memoir, Uptown Girl, which will be released on April 25, 2025. The 71-year-old expressed her gratitude over being able to write the book in the first place and showed some sneak peeks to fans.
Alongside several photos, she wrote, “Here I am working on my upcoming mémoire, Uptown Girl. The idea for the book came from looking thru letters home from my travels abroad to my many journals bursting with momentos, stories, Polaroids and illustrations. I always had a journal to help me keep track of my busy life … what I was doing , where I was supposed to be. I would write down the shenanigans and adventures that took place on modeling shoots all over the world!”

She continued, “Often I included little drawings of everything from friends to cover tries to charming harbors and restaurants where we enjoyed long meals and laughter. Uptown Girl shares not just the story of Brinkley’s career, but also never-before-heard stories about her personal life, including her four marriages and troubled family life. It details how she was discovered outside a phone booth in Paris, which sparked her modeling career and led to acting in films such as 1983’s National Lampoon’s Vacation. Overall, Brinkley said that the book is really about her own “resilience and self-discovery.”

The book will feature over 100 photos and even pieces of Brinkley’s artwork. Harper Influence Senior Vice President and Publisher Lisa Sharkey shared, “Uptown Girl is unlike any story you will read.
