Rob Lowe recently swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his game show, The Floor, which will have its third season premiere right after the Super Bowl. While Lowe was chatting with Kimmel, he also spoke about Michael Jackson, confirmed his plans to make St. Elmo’s Fire 2 with Demi Moore, and recalled how he was once in a Super Bowl commercial for Coca-Cola.

First, they chatted about football, naturally, with the Super Bowl coming up this weekend. Kimmel shared a photo of Lowe in an NFL hat, which went viral at the time. They joked around about Lowe and how he supports many different NFL teams, as evidenced by his Instagram photos at different games. While Lowe seems to be a football fan, he doesn’t really root for any specific team all the time.

Lowe also reminded Kimmel that he was in a Super Bowl commercial in 1977, which was his first paying job. “It was the first commercial ever made just for the Super Bowl,” Lowe said, “I was basically an extra in it … I only saw it once in 1977.” Though the role was very small, Lowe recalled that “You would have thought I had gotten on Saving Private Ryan, I thought it was the biggest thing.”

Kimmel then brought out a photo of Lowe with the late Michael Jackson. Lowe confirmed that it was taken at Jackson’s famous Bad tour, and that he was able to meet the singer backstage — and that he and Jackson had something very unusual in common: “I was approached by a plastic surgeon … and he introduced himself, and he said he was Michael’s surgeon. And he told me that Michael had requested my chin,” Lowe recalled. “And it turns out, for a brief shining moment, in the ’80s, it was the most requested chin.”

They moved on to even more nostalgic topics, including one of his most popular ’80s movies, St. Elmo’s Fire. Lowe shared that he keeps in touch with co-star Demi Moore, and that they’re “putting together St. Elmo’s Fire 2. So we’re back working together.” Though Kimmel was initially incredulous, Lowe confirmed that the sequel is for real: “We’re gonna see what those people are doing at our ages now. When we did the original, we were on the cover of Rolling Stone,” Lowe joked. “Now we’re gonna be on the cover of AARP.”
