Mel Gibson, Jon Voight & Sylvester Stallone Asked by Trump to Change a “Troubled” Hollywood

President-elect Donald Trump is aiming to make some changes in what he calls a “great but very troubled place:” Hollywood. According to his Truth Social post, he has enlisted actors Mel Gibson, Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone to help him. He is calling them his “special ambassadors.”
It is currently unclear what the actors will actually be doing or the type of changes that Trump wants to make. “It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” he wrote. “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!”

“These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest,” he added. “It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
Hollywood has had its fair share of troubles in recent years with setbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic, several strikes and now the ongoing wildfires blazing through California. Overall production is down about 26 percent from 2021.
In October of 2024, Governor Gavin Newsom proposed expanding California’s Film & Television Tax Credit program to $750 million annually, up from $330 million. Other cities around the country, including Las Vegas, Atlanta and New York, are also using tax incentives to lure movie and television makers to film in their cities.
All three of the actors have previously voiced their support of Trump, and Stallone has even been seen at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. Stallone has also referred to Trump as the “second George Washington.”
