If you were a teenager in the late ’70s, there is a chance you had a poster of Shaun Cassidy on your wall. He became a teen idol with the release of his hit songs “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Morning Girl,” “Hey Deanie” and “Do You Believe in Magic,” along with his starring role in The Hardy Boys Mysteries. In case that wasn’t enough, he was the son of Partridge Family star Shirley Jones and actor Jack Cassidy, and the late David Cassidy was his half-brother. If you’re still a fan, Cassidy just announced a surprise tour on Facebook.

Cassidy revealed that he previously had no plans to tour this year but was approached by City Winery with the idea of some holiday-themed shows. After his forty-year hiatus from touring, he played some shows at City Wineries and really enjoyed reconnecting with fans and trying the different wines.

So, the 66-year-old confirmed that he is doing a few shows in New York, Boston and Philadelphia this year and early 2025 with limited tickets available. He shared that it would be a great way to celebrate the holidays and the New Year with fans!

More recently, when Cassidy is not focusing on his music, he has worked as an executive producer and writer on the emotional hospital drama New Amsterdam. While he hasn’t released a music album since 1980, he still enjoys performing and created a one-man show called The Magic of a Midnight Sky in 2021, playing to standing-room-only crowds around the country.
