During October’s Hollywood Show convention, former Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering were asked to reflect on what they took away from the show. For most of the cast, the answer was precious memories; but for one star, the answer was … well, a bunch of props from the set.

“I just had fun. I got to be with my family that we created. We had so many laughs,” said Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin on the show. “I took that away from the experience the connection and a bond that no one else could ever really understand, except all of us. We would be bonded for life.”

Brian Austin Green, who played David Silver, remembers the style of the era: “Looking back on the show, those are the things that will stick with me: the signs of the times. That decade, there was so much that happened with the music, the fashion, the colors and the fabrics that were being used, and the way things were fit and cut. It was like nothing was designed well, like you’d buy a jacket, but it was just this big, square thing.”

However, according to Ian Ziering, who played Steve Sanders, “My greatest takeaway was the jukebox from the counter of the Peach Pit. I was too busy, nicking everything from set.”

“He was the only smart one, he sold that shit,” added Spelling.

“There is something that I’m really proud of from Steve and Janet’s [Lindsay Price] tabloid office,” Ziering continued. “There was this bookcase behind my desk, and nobody ever knew, but it was actually a bar where you would push the books, and it would slide around to this really nice bar set. The audience never saw it because it stayed closed.”

“Hey, did you steal that?” Green asked, to which Ziering replied, “Hell yeah.”

So how exactly do you steal a jukebox from one of the key sets of the greatest teen show of the ’90s? Ziering explained, “[They said], ‘That’s a wrap on the Peach Pit,’ and I’m in there like, OK, and those jukeboxes on the counters were glued down. I don’t know who the assistant director was; the directors come and go, but the assistant directors stay all along. The AD was like, ‘Where are you going with that [jukebox, which was in Ian’s arms]?’ And I was like, ‘I’m going home.’ I waited for him to say something. He’s eyeballing me, and I kept on walking. Nobody stopped me, and I was out the door. I then went over to the tabloid [set] and snagged that beautiful piece of furniture [the bar].”
