Fleetwood Mac Documentary Is in the Works From ‘Bee Gees’ Doc Director
Fleetwood Mac fans, get ready to learn even more about your favorite band of dreamers. Apple Original Films is teaming up with director Frank Marshall for a new documentary on the iconic group, whose album, Rumours, defined the ’70s light rock sound. In the upcoming film, which will include newly unearthed archival material, the band members will share their stories on their own terms.
Marshall, who has been responsible for documentaries on the Bee Gees and the Beach Boys, said in a press release, “I am fascinated by how this incredible story of enormous musical achievement came about. Fleetwood Mac somehow managed to merge their often chaotic and almost operatic personal lives into their own tale in real time, which then became legend. This will be a film about the music and the people who created it.”
All of the members of Fleetwood Mac, including Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and the late Christine McVie, will reflect on their over 50-year history in new interviews and never-before-seen footage. The documentary explores how the band continued to churn out hits, despite all of the drama that plagued its members. It will showcase the highs and lows of their careers, with a spotlight on how each member helped the band to succeed.
“We are thrilled to continue our creative partnership with Frank and the talented team at Kennedy/Marshall,” said producer Nicholas Ferrall. “Fleetwood Mac are a musical phenomenon, their alchemy almost beyond comprehension. White Horse is grateful and humbled by the extraordinary opportunity to produce a documentary that dives deep into both the talents of each band member individually and the magic that is Fleetwood Mac as a whole. And to do this with the support and reach of Apple is quite wonderful”
No release date has yet been announce, so stay tuned to find out when the documentary will be available to watch.
